Our Founder
Donnica Carpenter
Donnica Carpenter, LMHC, LPC, MBA is the founder and CEO of Therapy Spot, a subscription-based therapist directory created to amplify the visibility of Black mental health professionals and connect them with individuals seeking culturally competent care.
With nearly two decades of experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Donnica has worked extensively in clinical practice, higher education, and consulting. She also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management and advanced certifications in Trauma-Informed Care, which allow her to blend clinical expertise with business strategy in shaping impactful, accessible mental health solutions.
Donnica is also the founder of DDC Consulting LLC, where she provides motivational speaking and training services. She is the author of Heal(ed) Out Loud: From Hurt to Healed and I Should’ve Gone Crazy, but God Said No!, books that reflect her deep commitment to resilience, healing, and empowerment.
Through Therapy Spot, Donnica’s mission is clear: to break down barriers to mental health access, create safe and affirming spaces for the Black community, and provide therapists with the tools and visibility they need to thrive. Her vision is a world where representation, equity, and healing are at the forefront of mental health care.
